January 2003: Serving Our Customers

At Eckhart & Company, we take pride in offering our customers solutions that help them win more business. Over the years, we’ve kept our promises to customers by continually expanding our range of capabilities. Although we now provide a full range of services under one roof, we like to think of ourselves as one company that specializes in three main areas of production:

Our bookbinding and print finishing services represent our longest-standing capabilities. We specialize in highly-automated mechanical binding production, including Wire-O, plastic spiral and spiral wire binding styles.

Our loose-leaf manufacturing services are ideal for products such as ring binders, pad holders, index tabs and more. These products are quite different than what you find in an office supply store. Ring binders can be decorated and customized with screen printing, foil stamping and other processes.

Turned-edge construction is our third area of focus. This is a process used in the manufacture of ring binders, boxes, slip and slant cases and more. Our extensive turned-edge capabilities enable us to create higher-end multimedia packaging that holds much more than just paper. CD-ROM and DVD-ROM discs, floppy diskettes, video and audio cassettes and perfect-bound books are just a few of the items we can package.

The Eckhart Advantage

We specialize in combining processes from our three focus areas to create unique, customized binding and information packaging solutions. A recent ring binder project illustrates this perfectly. We began by manufacturing the binders and index tabs. We gathered and trimmed the text, then inserted the tabs. We drilled the complete text blocks, shrink-wrapped them, and then laid them inside the binders. Individual binders were placed in one-piece mailers and then into a master carton for shipment to our client’s distribution center. To ensure that production of all projects goes smoothly, we assign product engineering specialists to each job. They’re responsible for guiding your project from the pre-production planning stage through the manufacturing and shipping processes. This enables us to immediately correct problems and provide a better finished product.
