May 2004: Menu Cover Possibilities

While a satisfying dining experience is centered on great food, a high-quality menu gets it started properly by making a classy first impression. At Eckhart and Company, we offer a wide range of menu construction and decorating options to help you create a menu that's ideal for any restaurant, be it a Midwestern steak house or an Italian bistro.

A Full Plate of Construction and Decorating Choices
Small quantities and removable contents are two characteristics that must be considered when selecting an appropriate menu construction method. For that reason, ring binders are a popular choice for both menus and accompanying wine lists. Ring mechanisms can be placed within attractively-designed covers to give the menu a high-quality, modern appearance. In addition, rings can be painted to match or complement the materials they hold, giving menus a higher-end look. At Eckhart and Company, we offer a rainbow of colored ring metals for your menus.

Our fully customized menu covers are available in a variety of colors and styles.

There are a few other possibilities for constructing menus to allow for easy removal of menu contents. Ribbon at the inside corners of menu covers allow sheets to slip in and out easily. Clear pockets on the inside panels are another option for holding menu contents securely while allowing sheets to be removed easily. They also help protect menu contents from inevitable food and drink spills.

For the menu covers themselves, turned-edge construction is a popular for its sturdiness and range of decoration choices. Turned-edge outer and heat-sealed inside covers allow for the protection you want and need while demonstrating the image of class and quality that you want to portray. For added protection and distinction, brass or nickel can be attached to the corners of any type of menu cover. A host of decoration options is available for menu covers. Digitally-printed and film-laminated paper is a popular choice, as it allows for vivid graphics and is cost-effective for the small quantities associated with menu cover applications. Book cloth is another popular option, and is available in a variety of textures and colors. Logos and restaurant names can be displayed distinctively with foil stamping, embossing and debossing, while screen printing and UV coating can make colors pop. For a truly unique look, engraved metal or imitation metal can be embedded on the cover.
