THIS MONTH'S TOPIC: SPIRAL WIRE BINDING
 |
This spiral wire-bound product includes a self-easel cover that takes advantage of the 360-degree folding capabilities of this binding style.

Need layflat capability and durable construction on a limited budget? For a classic look that satisfies these requirements and still offers plenty of design options, look no further than spiral wire binding from Eckhart & Company. Spiral wire binding allows books to both lay flat and fold 360 degrees for single-hand use.
Great for products such as calendars, notebooks, cookbooks, and instruction manuals, spiral binding gives you the ability to incorporate a variety of stocks, cover styles and other practical options. Spiral wire applications can easily incorporate index tabs, foldouts, pocket folders and perforated pages for easy removal. And to perfectly match company logos or design schemes, PMS-matched color wire can be ordered to compliment your graphics.
At Eckhart & Company, we use four fully- and semi-automatic mechanical binding machines to produce spiral wire products from one sheet to 1 7/8” book bulks. These machines allow us to routinely handle production runs into the hundreds of thousands. Jogging, punching and binding can all be performed in-line for efficient, cost-effective production.
Layout tip: Spiral wire-bound books are trimmed based on the wire size and spacing of the punched holes to ensure efficient book production. Standard punching intervals for spiral wire are 5:1 (five holes per linear inch), 4:1, 3.2:1 and 2.5:1.
